Foster Farms

Fun changed the laws of advertising and agriculture.

Task

Take Foster Farmers to the top of an industry crowded with health claims.

Results

Foster Farms was the only US poultry company to turn a profit during the financial downturn of 2009.

We developed the word “plumping” to describe a disturbing practice used in the chicken industry. It really took hold in California, and propelled Senator Barbara Boxer to pass a legislative bill. We won a gold Effie for compelling communications against the food industry, which is on display in the Smithsonian Museum.
